Las Vegas Pool Parties Calvin Harris Billboard Music Awards

Las Vegas is THE place to be this weekend.  Some of the coolest names in Hip Hop and EDM will be playing around town and the Billboard Music Awards take place on Sunday. If you’re there you’ll avoid the herds of scenesters  from L.A. and Jersey that will pack the town next weekend for Memorial Day.  You can bet ticket prices won’t be so bad either.  Who can you expect to see?

Resident DJ Calvin Harris will be at Hakkasanbut even a Las Vegas residency doesn’t mean he’ll be there every time you visit. Tiesto and Kaskade are both spinning at pool parties on Sunday.  Tiesto will be at Wet Republic. Personally, of all the Las Vegas pool party venues I like the layout of Wet Republic best. (It’s nice and open even when it’s crowded) Wanna see Kendrick Lamar? One of last years most talked about new artists will be performing at the Blvd Pool at the Cosmopolitan Hotel.

What’s the lesson here gentleman?  Play your cards right and with a little bit of luck you’ll get to see some cool artists at a decent price. If you are a first timer or you don’t know promoters,  buy your ticket a head of time to guarantee your entry.

Here’s a larger list of some of the acts I’ve heard are gonna be in town.

  • 5/16  Missy Elliot at Haze nightclub
  • 5/17  Taboo from Black Eyed Peas at Ditch Fridays at the Palms
  • 5/17  Calvin Harris will be at Hakkasan nightclub
  •  5/18 Jay Sean will be at Haze
  • 5/18 Theopolis London at Tao nightclub
  • 5/19 Kaskade at Marquee day club
  • 5/19 Tiesto at Wet Republic day club
  • 5/22 Kendrick Lamar at Blvd pool

The Billboard Music Awards will also take place at the MGM Garden Arena on Sunday 5/19 . Expect performances from Bruno Mars, & Miguel and there are whispers the legendary Prince may perform too. Tickets to the event are still available online through Ticketmaster. Do you care that much? Maybe everyone should try out an award show once. I’ll only go if the tickets are free. So…L.A. I know but tickets to the Billboard Music Awards costs between 85 and 270 bucks a piece.
